I believe that in all of us there is a will and ability for positive change. Though often harrowing and vulnerable, the act of seeking help is the first step to accessing that ability. My goal as your therapist is to help you harness more of that capacity. In a non-judgmental space I will work to provide necessary relief in the present, support you to express yourself authentically, and help you create new patterns in your life.
Whatever brings you to therapy – perhaps depression, anxiety, relationship issues, feeling stuck, etc. – I will take an engaged and relational approach that is responsive to you in the moment while also attending to what lies below the surface. Everyone’s issues are unique and deserve attention accordingly. I incorporate several theories and strategies to address different needs. This includes Psychodynamics, Humanistic Psychology, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
I’m a graduate of The Wright Institute with a Master’s In Counseling Psychology and am actively engaged in post-graduate training at The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley. Before starting at XY Counseling I worked with teens in school based settings and greatly enjoyed helping them on their path.
